OUR HISTORY

From the Start

Global Aid Missions (GAM) was established in 2007 to address the health and social challenges faced by people living with albinism. In Zimbabwe and many parts of Africa, individuals with albinism often face limited access to specialized healthcare, as well as stigma and discrimination within communities.

Albinism is a genetic condition that increases the risk of skin damage, skin cancer, and visual impairments due to the lack of melanin. In response, GAM works to improve the quality of life for people with albinism through healthcare services, awareness programs, and advocacy initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion, protection, and equal opportunities.

Our main product is the albinism clinic, which provides free healthcare services to people with albinism in Zimbabwe. In addition to the clinic, GAM offers education and advocacy activities to raise awareness about the difficulties that people with albinism encounter. Individuals with albinism in Zimbabwe are the organization’s major market.
